Emissions

East Harbour considers the impact of emissions and waste in all its work as these are key drivers of future costs and market perceptions.  These emissions include carbon dioxide, particulates (PM10), nitrous oxides and sulphur dioxide.  We understand the technologies and fuels producing the emissions, and the process efficiencies and other parameters that drive outputs and mitigation strategies including alternate fuels.

Our emissions related focus areas
  • Emissions assessment, auditing and costing covering all fuels and emission sources
  • Development of mitigation measures including assessment of new technologies and fuels
  • Commercial and strategic advice regarding emissions, future costs and risks
  • Development of mitigation solutions including use of alternative fuels
Our business and team experience
  • Biomass fuel strategies (fuel crops and wood residues) and supply chain assessment for process heat and electricity production from biofuels
  • Energy auditing and emission calculation
  • Modelling project sensitivities to a range of fuels and carbon costs
  • Implementation of biomass and waste to energy projects in which carbon costs and marketing implications are key drivers in the business justification
  • Energy, emissions and waste reduction strategies for primary product processors
  • Assessment of carbon footprints from projects such as the proposed Hauauru ma raki wind farm
  • Assessment of impact of future carbon costs on forward price paths for fuels and projects
