taking a strategic approach to efficient use of energy

Project management

East Harbour assists organisations to identify and implement development projects.  We carry out feasibility studies, develop business cases, secure consents and other approvals, and project manage the development of new energy and in-structure facilities.

Our team is commercially strong and skilled in heat, electricity and cogen generation technologies, in the utilisation of all fuels, and the opportunties and risks associated with energy projects.  Our project management includes financial and technical analysis, project modelling, risk assessment, commercial contracts and consenting.

We have carried out projects on:

  • Geothermal energy for both process heat and electricity generation
  • Biomass and other bioenergies for heat and cogeneration
  • Hydro, wind and thermal electricity generation
  • Solar water heating and photovoltaic systems
  • Fuel supply chain establishment
Environmental assessment and consenting

We have expertise in environmental impact assessment, managing consenting phases of projects, and with district and regional planning processes.  We assist companies and regulatory authorities with advice, review and assessment, bringing together and managing teams of experts.

East Harbour has given expert evidence at both local authority and environment court hearings and also assisted Government on energy-related enquiries, including those by select committees.

Facility management

East Harbour can advise on the management of company assets, investments and energy facilities.  We can secure management contracts, gain agreement on management programmes and engage the sub-contracted services of operational/maintenance/labour staff to undertake the management of energy facilities.

Project structuring and contracting

East Harbour can help with arranging project financing, including build, own, operate and transfer structures (BOOTs), and negotiates and drafts contracts.
