Siegfried has wide experience in the energy field both in New Zealand and in Germany encompassing research and development, consulting, and business analysis. He is an experienced commercial analyst and engineer in the energy sector, specialising in energy efficiency and renewable energy options.

Siegfried is expert in energy utilisation, energy management and services, particularly:

• Energy performance contracts
• Cogeneration and renewable energy
• Environmental implications of energy use
• Energy markets, particularly electricity, gas and transport fuels

Relevant project experience

• Industrial and commercial energy audits
• Identification of business opportunities around energy technology, particularly distributed renewable power generation
• Business case development to support viability of pursuing opportunities (e.g. the emerging carbon economy)
• Analysis of business cases and propositions, and financial appraisal and modelling
• Development of systems and tools for pricing of individual energy supply contracts
• Energy tariff analysis and development
• Commercial analysis for the development, negotiation and final approval for two major cogeneration projects (52 MW and 34 MW)
